Data Architect


Visual Connections, LLC is seeking a Data Architect to design and develop logical data models and supports database objects identified to support user needs.

 Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Designs and builds relational databases, data warehouses, and/or data-marts for storage, processing, and/or decision support.

  • Develops, produces, and documents logical and physical database designs.

  • Develops data quality standards and data security policies.

  • Coordinates testing; identifies appropriate level of testing and ensures that testing is complete before signing off.

  • Reviews and analyzes existing database designs to identify and resolve possible performance issues or limitations.

  • Provides assistance to business analysts, product managers, systems architects, application development staff, and others on the design and integration of databases and applications.

  • Interfaces with product managers to research and propose solutions to business problems.

  • Performs capacity planning to project future hardware and software needs; provides recommendations to cover areas of redundancy, fail-over, and load balance.

  • Investigates and thoroughly understands emerging technologies; recommends ways to utilize them to improve business systems and technology infrastructure.

  • Assists with training and problem solving as needed.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

 Required Skills:

  • Four or more years of experience in the field or in a related area

  • Must have a working knowledge of data modeling and integration, data migration and quality management, database management systems, data replication technologies, and data warehousing.

  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.

  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions

 Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
